"From the moment we walked into Springboard last year, our lives began to improve. Through their comprehensive assessment we began to understand a great deal about ADHD and the impact it has had on our family. Most importantly, we began to feel empowered rather than defeated. The coaching has been invaluable. My eight year old son was diagnosed with ADHD just over six months ago. He began coaching with Laura in the fall and the change in his behaviour has been nothing short of remarkable. I was diagnosed with ADHD a few months before my son and have enjoyed the benefits of coaching as well. If you asked me what is the best thing to come out of the coaching sessions, I would probably reply: "I no longer lose my keys each and every day!" My keys are a big deal, but even more importantly is the fact that I am much less critical of myself. As well, armed with knowledge and encouragement (from Laura) I began exercising after an eight year hiatus. Besides having more energy, exercise has proven to be a great way of controlling my symptoms."
“Working with Springboard, my son has just finished his best term at school since kindergarten. This is the team approach I’m always reading about in books and magazines, but until now, we’ve never been able to find anyone who can effectively work together with my son and his school to problem-solve his social and behavioural challenges. After struggling for years, he’s finally developing the skills he needs and getting his confidence back.”
"As a university student, I cannot say enough good things about the care that I received at Springboard Clinic. Everyone I interacted with was caring and compassionate, and their treatment and advice has proven to be extremely helpful. It has changed my life both in and out of the classroom.
Thanks Springboard! M"
"When I tripped across Springboard, I was anxious to confirm one way or another my growing suspicion that I may have ADHD. I had already had a few phone chats with various professionals listed as “ADHD experts” in my attempt to find someone able to provide me with an answer one way or the other. I was universally put off by those conversations. The general attitude that I had encountered with those conversations was one of 'come in, we'll ask you a few questions, write you a prescription and off you go.'
No thank you. I was looking for answers, not drugs.
What struck me about Springboard was their holistic approach; taking everything into consideration not only in terms of gathering diagnostic criteria but then in explaining their findings to me. Rather than just be handed a final report and a prescription, I was afforded tremendous opportunity to ask questions and discuss implications of diagnosis—all while being continuously reminded that ADHD is not a negative and in many, many ways it is a positive.
I hadn't properly considered what would happen after diagnosis was confirmed. To the contrary, I largely felt that a positive diagnosis would instantly cause my mess of a brain to fall into place. Needless to say this was not the case, diagnosis is not a magic fix. It is the beginning of answers and guidance for developing approaches. Springboard has diligently worked to assist me in figuring out my steps forward and resolving details holding me back. The experience of which has opened up my life to me, putting me on a path that allows me to be the best possible."
"I can tell you the thing that is most impressive (to me) about Springboard is that [our son] was not just prescribed a drug and sent home. The follow up and strategies for coping in school, social situations, etc. have been invaluable."
"The ADHD assessment that Springboard did was unlike any that my son had done before. As parents, we've muddled through several protracted and often mystifying psych assessments with my son over the past 5 years. Being able to sit-in and observe Dr. Gray's concise yet definitive assessment of our son was truly an 'ah-ha!' moment for us."
"Much like ADHD itself, managing ADHD can be frustrating and inconsistent. It's like navigating a seemingly endless road full of unexpected twist and turns, and ups and downs. It can quickly exhaust a family's resources. Dr. Gray and Laura's knowledge and holistic approach to treating ADHD have been invaluable in helping our family navigate this road with our son. Thank-you!"
"I was diagnosed with ADD at a very young age, and have tried many different tricks and sought out help from many places over my school years. As an adult my ADD changed and grew along with me, got better in some ways and much worse in others. I wasn't sure what to do or how to cope, I was not a very functional adult, and my self-confidence was quite low indeed. I only mention this to give context for how much Springboard has helped put me in the right direction. The combination of an attentive medical specialist and a helpful life coach is a winning one! I had previously had no experience with life coaching, but Laura helped make the most of our time, She is full of great ideas and strategies, and knew just how to personalize them to fit my life. Dr Gray was compassionate and helpful and very considerate with my very long medical history. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Springboard's services to anyone looking to improve the quality of their life."
"Well thought out program that sheds a very bright light on the nature of ADHD and provides workable approaches and processes to overcome the challenges - a very positive experience!"
"Dr. Gray and Laura have provided our family and my child with the right mix of medicine and strategies to embrace ADHD and live well. My child is happier and focused on goals. I am grateful to the Springboard team for helping us through challenging times and supporting us even when my child was difficult."
"Effective, collaborative, team environment that helps me understand how ADHD affects me and how I can use it to my advantage."
"I can recommend Springboard to the parents of children who suspect that their child may be affected by ADHD. The combination of medical assessment and coordinated coaching resources is powerful and successful. Our son actually seemed to enjoy, to a degree, his coaching sessions and to follow, to a degree, the suggestions offered. He is certainly in a better place to-day than when we began."
"Overall my sessions at Springboard are positive. They are there to help you rely on yourself to improve your situation. The professionals are positive individuals; they treat you like a friend as well as a client."
